The SC Tree Farm Field Tour and Awards Ceremony will be held Oct. 3 at the Johnson Experimental Forest owned by Dr. Knowlton Johnson, 2018 SC Tree Farmer of the Year. In addition to the tour of the property, the program will include a presentation honoring SC’s District Tree Farmers of the Year and nominators, as well as remarks by SC Tree Farm Committee Chairman Wallace Wood.
Cost is $20/person

Women Owning Woodlands (WOW) engages and educates women in stewardship of land by connecting them to resources, trusted professionals, and a com-munity of other women. Are you a woman who owns, cares for, or is interested in learning more about woodlands? You are invited to attend this event, which will highlight sustainable forestry, wildlife habitat enhancement, longleaf pine restoration, and conservation practices.

DORN TREE FARM TOUR HELD

The SC Tree Farm Field Tour was held Thursday, May 16 at the Richland County Tree Farm of W. Patrick Dorn, Jr. -- 2017 SC Tree Farmer of the Year. Dorn served as 2003 Forestry Association Chairman and was 2000 Chairman of Richland Co. Forestry Association. Special thanks to the Dorn family and SC Tree Farm Committee for hosting such a great tour! Tree Farm Committee Chairman Wallace Wood delivered welcome remarks and also thanked Field Tour Chair Anneta Pritchard and all the other individuals who contributed to the tour’s success.
